Weekly Notes:

Good morning!  I love how Colorado goes from Summer to winter in one day…..we will go out today unless it rains so send in those coats! BTW- Our recess time changed since the beginning of the year, we go right after lunch about 11:30 and again real quick at the end of the day.
We are working on the letter sound “H” this week and will be getting out the Handwriting Without Tears workbooks (HWT’s) and start with writing the letter “F”.  Names are improving daily as confidence grows.  We might send home “homework” this week to have them practice at home, so you can see the growth as well.  We finished Music Makers and will start Move and Groove this week. Jennifer and I will start evaluations this week to prepare for conferences the beginning of October (before Fall Break)  We will have a Sign up Genius set up and will be able to offer evening appointments as well as daytime.  So look for that the end of the week!
On a personal note, I can’t thank you all enough for the cards and gifts you showered my family with.  It amazes me the kindness and generosity of the people in the class and school.  It has been a really rough time, and I feel love and support as I am getting my feet back under me  🙂  We have his inurnment this Friday at Ft Logan. ugh…
Much love, Shannon

I’m Shannon Swim, I teach in the Jr K Giraffe room with the 4 turning 5 year olds.  This will be my 8th year at Little Blessings and I love my job!  I enjoy seeing the “light go on” with them- I love how they love to laugh and are so quick to learn and remember what we teach.  I enjoy learning myself and researching topics the are interested in and make learning fun!  We laugh a lot and work hard too- EVERYone goes home tired!   Brad and I have been married 23 year and have 3 “kids” This year all three will be in college :). Our son will graduate this December from Colorado Christian, Erica will be a sophomore at Colorado CCU.  Our baby Anna is starting at CU Colorado Springs.  So this year will look different for us!  I like being outside doing “Colorado things”, loving on my family and our animals (horse, dog and two cats!)  I have a very full life and I count it a blessing to teach this special group and get them ready for the next step!

Hello!  My name is Jennifer Branham, Ms. Jennifer.  This is my 8th year teaching at Little Blessings.  I also have 5 years experience teaching kindergarten both in Grand Junction as well as Douglas County.  I have lived in Colorado all of my life, growing up in Westminster and then going to Mesa State College where I received a degree in History and a teaching license.  I have been married to my husband for 16 years and we have 2 active boys ages 14 and 11.  We have lived in Parker for 15 years. Both of my boys are beginning new education journeys this year as they enter Ponderosa as a Freshman and Sagewood as a 6th grader.  I enjoy teaching this age group and preparing these kiddos for kindergarten.  Children this age soak up so much and their joy for learning is contagious and endearing.                                                                           Thank you for sharing your children with us!
